Krishnam Gupta is drawn to complexity that has no obvious starting point. Across design, operations, and research, the recurring move has been the same: walk into something unstructured, figure out how to break it down, and deliver something coherent on the other side.
What He's Building Toward
Krishnam completed his MBA at the University of Nottingham as a deliberate pivot, moving from a design and project management background toward strategy. He is now looking to work inside an early-stage company where the mandates are genuinely ambiguous and the exposure is broad. The Chief of Staff track appeals to him because it puts him close to the decisions that shape how a business is built.
The Thread Across His Career
At Techno Centre, Krishnam started in brand management before moving into AutoCAD drafting, driven by curiosity about how things are actually made. When a glass installation project fell apart mid-execution, with the architect gone and the client demanding immediate delivery, he stepped in as the de facto project coordinator, sequenced the work across flooring, plumbing, and furniture teams, and held the line on installation timing despite client pressure. The two panels installed early broke. The rest, installed on his sequence, did not.
His MBA projects extended this pattern into new domains. For Innovation Nottinghamshire, he mapped a youth radio station's story to a government grant framework, identifying why previous applications had failed and restructuring the narrative around social value. The grant came through. For Ipsos and Helium, he ran end-to-end qualitative and quantitative research across low-income consumer segments in India, surfacing insights on trust, visual communication, and peer validation that shaped recommendations for how OTC medicine could reach underserved markets.
How He Works
Krishnam tends to start by understanding the existing structure before deciding whether to use it, adapt it, or build something new. He is comfortable doing the groundwork himself, whether that means reading five hundred pages of grant documentation or conducting primary interviews across multiple consumer segments. He is at his best when the brief is vague and the stakes are real.
