At Ola, he identified driver supply as the core moat in ride-hailing and rebuilt the onboarding system to remove the friction that was limiting how many drivers could join. At Careem, he owned the ride product for a business generating over $700M in annual GMV, and rebuilt the booking flow to improve the conversion rate that determined how much of that demand actually completed a ride. Amit builds go-to-market strategies for consumer products in markets where direct acquisition is insufficient, by routing distribution through institutions that already hold the trust of the end user. At Uolo, he identified that parents in Tier 2 and Tier 3 Indian cities would not adopt a mobile learning product through conventional marketing. The solution was to distribute through schools, using the school's endorsement as the trust signal that unlocked parent adoption. The insight is that in markets where the end user is a child and the decision-maker is a skeptical parent, institutional trust is the distribution channel.
