Grab Trust and Safety: Deploying Facial Verification and Abuse Prevention

Amit led product for trust and safety at Grab, covering the systems that protected both riders and the platform from fraud, impersonation, and abuse.

The work spanned three areas. First, he deployed facial verification with liveness detection for users, a capability that reduced crime and impersonation on the platform. Second, he developed vehicle telematics and NLP capabilities that improved customers' safety perception. Third, he built real-time promo and payment abuse prevention features that saved meaningful bottom-line losses.

The role required operating across multiple Southeast Asian markets, each with different regulatory environments and user behaviors, while maintaining a consistent safety standard across the platform.
