The Story
Zachariah joined Jetapult's Founder's Office and was tasked with building the market and competitive read on a Saudi mobile gaming studio being evaluated as an acquisition target. The brief was to assess an opportunity in an emerging market that was largely unfamiliar territory for the team.
His job was to determine whether the studio's revenue was real and repeatable. He structured the analysis around a core question: is the studio's traction durable, or is it a spike that's fading? On the quantitative side, he used Sensor Tower data, pulling downloads, revenue, rankings, and engagement trends across the studio's individual games. He was looking at direction over time rather than point-in-time snapshots, on the basis that a game holding its chart position is worth more than one sliding.
On the qualitative side, he assessed whether the numbers were explained by something durable: the studio's ability to ship updates, genre staying power, competitive density in the Saudi market, and player sentiment. The two reads were meant to work together; strong metrics with a weak qualitative picture would have been a flag.
He turned that analysis into one-pagers and studio assessment summaries that the Founder's Office used directly in acquisition discussions. He owned the artifact the decision ran on and the judgment about which signals and which games mattered most.
