SGGSCC Second Casebook: Leading the Publication from Sourcing to Launch

Vibhat co-led the production of SGGSCC's second national casebook as Consulting Director at 180 Degrees Consulting, with the goal of publishing a free resource for undergraduate students preparing for consulting interviews.

The process began with sourcing: the team needed to collect real interview cases from consultants at MBB and other top firms. Vibhat and his co-lead managed a team of 15, dividing outreach across firms to avoid overlap and ensure that cold messages on LinkedIn did not appear spammy to recipients at the same company.

When consultants agreed to calls, one of the two co-leads was always present. Their role was to support the first-year consultants conducting the interviews and to ensure the case details captured were accurate and complete.

Once a case was drafted, Vibhat reviewed it for accuracy and alignment with the original call, then shared it back with the contributing consultant for a final check before it was added to the casebook.

By the end of the academic year, the team had compiled a comprehensive casebook covering dozens of business cases, guesstimates, and industry analyses. It was published on the society's website and distributed as a public resource.
