The Story
Alongside his healthcare due diligence work at TresVista, Vibhat supported a US-based private credit team on ongoing portfolio monitoring for a portfolio of more than 20 companies.
His responsibilities included building coverage models for new portfolio companies, updating existing models as companies released new financial information, and maintaining compliance trackers for covenant monitoring across term loans, revolvers, and DDTLs.
The core of the work was uploading financial data into Chronograph, a financial database platform with Excel plug-ins, and ensuring that every line item was correctly mapped. A single spelling discrepancy in a line item label could break the coverage model entirely, so accuracy in the upload process was the primary quality bar.
Vibhat built coverage models for new portfolio companies, following the established template from the existing models. He also supported multiple quarterly performance reviews, updating the models as new financials were released and flagging any covenant compliance issues.
When a colleague went on leave, Vibhat covered both the portfolio monitoring workstream and his live healthcare due diligence simultaneously, managing the two by prioritizing the more error-sensitive portfolio work in the morning and shifting to the healthcare work once the associate's quality check was underway.
