Overview
As part of the Villgro RCT, Upasana was responsible for turning raw stakeholder survey data into impact reports that startup founders could understand and act on. The data came from customers, employees, and beneficiaries of each startup, capturing both what they currently paid for a product or service and what they would be willing to pay, whether they would buy again, and how they valued the engagement overall.
The Story
As part of the Villgro RCT, Upasana was responsible for turning raw stakeholder survey data into impact reports that startup founders could understand and act on. The data came from customers, employees, and beneficiaries of each startup, capturing both what they currently paid for a product or service and what they would be willing to pay, whether they would buy again, and how they valued the engagement overall.
The challenge was translating this into something operationally useful. She structured the reports around the gap between current pricing and perceived customer value, segmenting findings by customer type and category so founders could see how different parts of their target audience were responding to their product.
The framing was deliberate: rather than presenting raw survey statistics, she organized the findings around the decisions a founder would need to make, specifically around pricing and product positioning. The reports gave each founder a clear picture of whether their customers valued the product above, at, or below the current price point.
The outputs had direct commercial impact. Several founders made pricing changes, both upward and downward, based on what the reports showed about how their customers valued their work.
