Overview

Uday was part of the team that built A&M's account plan for Bain Capital, one of the firm's most complex relationship mapping exercises. Bain Capital operates across four distinct business lines: PE, VC, special situations, and credit, each with its own portfolio companies, deal members, and board members.

The Story

Uday was part of the team that built A&M's account plan for Bain Capital, one of the firm's most complex relationship mapping exercises. Bain Capital operates across four distinct business lines: PE, VC, special situations, and credit, each with its own portfolio companies, deal members, and board members.

The challenge was that deal and board member information was not available in any single source. He conducted thorough research across press releases and news coverage of Bain's acquisitions to identify the specific individuals involved in each deal, then assembled that information into a unified dataset.

The goal was to make the data immediately actionable for MDs. He built an automated dashboard where a single row contained the portfolio company, the relevant Bain business line, and the contact details of the deal or board member, so an MD could identify and reach out to the right person in seconds rather than spending thirty minutes cross-referencing sources. The dashboard was also set up to refresh automatically when underlying data was updated.

The final account plan, including a summary deck, went to multiple stakeholders across A&M and became a live tool for targeting Bain Capital relationships.
