The Story
Uday took on the UK population project as a solo assignment, with a mandate to build a comprehensive corporate database that A&M's UK-facing stakeholders could use for business development targeting.
The starting point was a blank slate. He sourced data from seven to eight platforms, including Orbis, PitchBook, Datwire, and Nine Fin, each covering different slices of the European corporate landscape. The raw data was fragmented and inconsistent, so he spent significant time cleaning and reconciling it before any analysis could begin.
Once the dataset was structured, he ran financial benchmarks and qualitative checks on every company in the population, applying A&M's internal standards to identify which firms were viable targets for outreach. The output was not just a spreadsheet: he built dashboards and filters so that stakeholders across the UK could navigate the data themselves without needing to come back to him.
To make the rollout work, he wrote a separate guidance deck walking stakeholders through how to apply filters and use the dashboards. The dataset went out to all UK-facing stakeholders at A&M and became the working foundation for their targeting activity.
