The Story
Taranjit led the build of an industry research report at InSync Analytics examining how AI was reshaping multiple sectors, including healthcare, consumer technology, and automotive. The brief came from a client interested in understanding where AI-driven products were gaining real traction and where capital could flow next.
He structured the research around two parallel tracks. On the primary side, he and his team conducted interviews with specialized doctors, product customers, and industry professionals to assess whether AI-driven products were genuinely useful in practice, how they were priced, and whether demand was real or speculative. On the secondary side, they pulled existing research from third-party firms to map what had already been covered and where the gaps were.
For the healthcare segment, the team focused on AI-powered diagnostic software, examining how it was being adopted by clinicians, whether it had regulatory approval requirements, and whether it could become a core revenue driver for the companies building it. Taranjit ran interviews himself alongside managing the team's research process, synthesizing primary and secondary signals into a structured view.
When primary findings did not match the initial thesis, such as when demand for a specific product turned out to be narrower than expected, the team did not force the conclusion. They assessed whether the product was a niche play, mapped the addressable market for that specific disease or use case, and either flagged it for a revisit or moved to a different company.
The final output was an industry report covering AI use cases by sector, identifying companies building AI-integrated products, assessing their competitive positioning, and mapping where the next wave of capital deployment was most likely.
