The Story

During her independent consulting period, Tamilarasi was engaged by a fashion startup looking to validate whether there was a viable market for clothing targeting petite customers. The fashion industry is crowded across price points, from budget to luxury, and the client needed evidence before committing to a market entry.

She designed the research approach from scratch: defining the target respondent profile, building the survey questionnaire, and identifying channels to reach potential customers. She then ran the outreach, collected responses, and cleaned and analyzed the data.

The analysis surfaced a clear demand signal. The data showed growing demand among petite customers for clothing that matched their specific sizing and aesthetic preferences, across gender categories. The findings gave the client a grounded view of the opportunity and the specific style preferences driving demand in the segment.

Tamilarasi synthesized the findings into a structured presentation, walking the client through what the data supported and where the clearest opportunity lay.
