The Story
Swagnik was responsible for securing all legal clearances required to run Vaayu Fest at JVPT Grounds in Mumbai. The permissions required included approvals from the BMC, the Mumbai Police, and the fire department. Without every clearance in place, the event could not legally proceed.
He handled all of this personally, because the legal and institutional requirements meant the work could not be delegated to first-year students. As a third-year college student at NMIMS, he was dealing with senior officials who were not accustomed to taking students seriously, and the process required sustained credibility-building rather than a single meeting.
The sound permission from the Juhu Police Station was the hardest to obtain. Officers were uncooperative across multiple visits, and the informal expectation in the local context was that such permissions required unofficial payments. Swagnik refused to take that route. He showed up to the station two to three days in a row, brought every document the officers requested, and gave them no procedural reason to deny the application. The consistency of his preparation and his willingness to return without complaint eventually shifted the dynamic.
He secured the permission through documentation and persistence alone. All required clearances were obtained in time for the event to proceed as planned.
