The Story
Suvin joined Sarthy Venture Investment Partners as an intern and was promoted to Associate Partner within the same tenure. A core part of his role was identifying startups that matched Sarthy's investment thesis: impact-driven companies creating measurable benefit for India, including in climate and energy.
At Startup Mahakumbh 2024, Suvin met dozens of founders across the event. When he spoke with the team at GAP Solar, something about their work on energy conservation clicked as a strong thesis fit. Sarthy's partners and advisors had consistently emphasized they were looking for startups creating real climate impact, and GAP Solar was doing exactly that.
Suvin scheduled a call between the GAP Solar founders and Girish Batra, Sarthy's founder and CEO. The call landed well. Girish told Suvin directly that GAP Solar was the kind of startup Sarthy was looking for. Sarthy went on to invest, and GAP Solar became a portfolio company.
Alongside this, Suvin built partnerships with government-run incubation centers, positioning Sarthy as their preferred investment partner for a two-year pipeline of startups seeking external funding beyond government support.
