The Story

Siddharth handles corporate account onboarding at Razorpay, working with clients whose average monthly balances run to significant sums. The standard turnaround for onboarding is around 25 days, accounting for risk checks, AML verification, documentation review, board signatures, and API integration.

One case stood out. A merchant incorporated in the US needed to open a corporate bank account in India. The back-and-forth on documentation had stretched the process to over 60 days, more than double the standard TAT, with no resolution in sight.

Siddharth diagnosed the core problem: the merchant's US incorporation documents were not in a format Indian banks could accept, and nobody had mapped out exactly which Indian-equivalent documents were required. Each round of document submission was triggering a new request rather than moving the process forward.

He coordinated all outstanding document requirements in a single pass, working with the merchant's team to understand what they had and what needed to be transcribed or reformatted for Indian regulatory standards. He then worked with the bank's POC to confirm that the compiled set met all risk and compliance requirements before submission.

The result was a clean, complete submission that cleared the remaining verification steps without further back-and-forth. The merchant's onboarding was completed, and the case became a reference point for how to handle cross-border documentation in future.
