The Story

Shashwat worked with a European manufacturer that had two vacant factories and was evaluating which injection molding sector to enter. The client was considering automotive, aerospace, mobility, off-road vehicles, and home appliances, and needed a structured recommendation on where to deploy its capital.

He ran the full benchmarking cycle. For each sector, the team identified the leading companies, mapped their market share, and built detailed competitive profiles covering company type, regional presence, product and service offerings, business segments, and injection molding service capabilities, from end-to-end design and distribution through to tooling-only players.

He also conducted secondary research on each company's key initiatives and strategic direction, synthesizing the findings into a ranked executive summary the client could use directly in its decision-making.

The analysis surfaced two findings that shaped the recommendation. Aerospace had a large number of players but the sector was highly fragmented, with no single company holding dominant market share. Given that the client was already based in Europe, home to major aerospace primes including Safran, Airbus, and Bombardier, Shashwat's recommendation pointed toward aerospace as the higher-opportunity entry, where the client's geographic proximity gave it a natural advantage in accessing the customer base.

The client reviewed the findings and moved forward with the aerospace entry.
