Overview

Sathish co-founded SATS to introduce smart-contract execution on native Bitcoin. He led positioning, go-to-market, and fundraising, closing $1.2 million before the team returned unused capital when block-time constraints limited practical DeFi use cases.

The Story

Sathish co-founded SATS around a specific opportunity: Bitcoin held substantial value but offered limited native programmability. The team set out to add smart-contract capability directly to Bitcoin and support practical decentralized applications.

He owned the commercial architecture of the company. Sathish shaped the L1+ and trustless execution-layer positioning, managed branding and content, built messages for investors, developers, ecosystem partners, and community members, and led investor prospecting, pitching, follow-up, and closing.

He also influenced developer adoption choices. The protocol supported Solidity and EVM-like indexers so Ethereum developers could work with a familiar stack rather than learn a new language and environment.

Sathish closed a $1.2 million funding round from crypto investors while the technical team built a working product that brought smart-contract capability to native Bitcoin through ordinals and inscriptions.

The remaining constraint was Bitcoin's 10-minute block time. Sathish explored extended indexers and off-chain approaches with the technical team, but those routes increasingly resembled an L2, which conflicted with the company's core positioning in a crowded L2 market.

The founders deliberated as a team. Once the technical co-founder concluded there was no credible path through the constraint, Sathish accepted that judgment and supported returning unused investment rather than continuing to spend without a viable route.
