The Story
Sarthi was assigned to build a set of private company profiles for a live mandate event. He structured the profiles across four segments: company overview, recent news, promoters, and investors. The first version took him close to two days to complete.
When he submitted it, an investor on the deal team came back with feedback: the structure needed to change. Specifically, the way certain information was displayed was not serving the audience, and the visual presentation needed to be reworked to include sponsor company logos and a cleaner layout.
He recognized the miss was his. He had not looked at the output from the audience's perspective before submitting. The deal team asked for a rebuilt version within 24 hours, outside of office hours.
He returned the rebuilt profile well within the deadline. He restructured the format, incorporated the logo treatment, and reworked the layout to match what the investor had described. The revised version was approved, went into the live mandate event, and the deal closed.
