Overview

Sanjeevni encountered a corporate action type that her team had never processed before: an odd lot holder event with four distinct shareholder options, each carrying different minimum and maximum share quantities, and one option requiring shareholders to disclose personal information.

The Story

Sanjeevni encountered a corporate action type that her team had never processed before: an odd lot holder event with four distinct shareholder options, each carrying different minimum and maximum share quantities, and one option requiring shareholders to disclose personal information.

With no internal precedent to draw from, she took full ownership. She started with the investor relations website of the issuer, reading the full offer document before touching anything else. She then conducted a detailed analysis of the MT SWIFT message shared by the custodian, mapping each option's participation rules, quantity thresholds, and disclosure requirements.

Her primary objective in drafting the notification was clarity: shareholders needed to understand their choices in one read. She translated the technical structure into plain language, specifying for each option the minimum and maximum share quantities, the multiples required for participation, and the personal data implications of the fourth option.

The notification was drafted end-to-end by Sanjeevni, with no template to work from. She created both the event record and the shareholder notification independently, ensuring shareholders could participate accurately without confusion.
