The Story
Before Sahili had formally joined Mili, the CEO sent her a message asking for a quick read on a potential collaboration partner who was requesting a significant spend for a marketing and wealth advisory introduction. He needed a decision-ready answer fast.
She had no prior knowledge of the space and no established research process. She pulled together every tool available: ChatGPT, Claude, Google Search, and LinkedIn, and spent thirty minutes going deep on the person's public presence.
The pattern she found was consistent. The person's LinkedIn posts had very low engagement, and the activity came almost entirely from people within his own company. The articles and publishers cited were also internal. The tone and professionalism of the posts did not match the positioning being offered.
She compiled her findings into a short report with screenshots and brought it to the CEO with a clear recommendation: pass. The CEO agreed, and the spend was avoided.
The approach she used became her default for fast-turnaround research requests: identify the available tools, go as deep as the time allows, look for patterns rather than isolated data points, and deliver a recommendation with the evidence attached.
