The Story
Rohit was handed a brief for a client building dispensary hubs near residential societies, targeting senior care in under ten minutes. His initial reaction was skepticism: he did not think senior care was a real industry in India.
He started with secondary research and quickly found a data point that changed his view. The senior care market in Japan was a 952 billion dollar industry. India's was around 7 billion. He began mapping whether India could follow a similar trajectory, and the evidence started stacking up.
He tracked what was happening on the ground in India: Ashiana had already built a specialized senior living society in Lavasa, and DLF was developing a senior-only community in Gurgaon. A pipeline of builders was entering the segment. The demographic and real estate signals pointed in the same direction as the Japan data.
With that research foundation, Rohit contributed to building the IC memo and investor deck for the client. The materials framed the market opportunity, the India-Japan parallel, and the company's positioning within a growing segment.
The client presented the IC memo to investors and closed a round of 12 CR on a valuation of 100 CR.
