Managing Three Parallel Research Workstreams Simultaneously

At one point at 1Lattice, Riddhi was running three research workstreams simultaneously: two IPO industry reports and the EdTech consumer due diligence survey. Each had a different manager and a different deadline structure.

The challenge was not just volume but the nature of each project. The consumer survey had hard time constraints: respondents were only reachable during business hours, and outreach after early evening was largely ineffective. The IPO reports, by contrast, were desk-research heavy and could be worked at any hour.

Rather than context-switch reactively, she structured her day around what each project actually required. Survey outreach and respondent calls were scheduled during live hours in the daytime. IPO report research was blocked for mornings and late evenings when the survey work was not viable.

She also prioritized within the set: tasks that were both easy and high-priority were completed first to clear the queue, before moving to more complex high-priority work. Nothing was deprioritized; the sequencing ensured each project kept moving.

All three workstreams met their deadlines.
