Overview

As Team Lead at Success Pact, Puja owned senior-level searches herself while managing a team of four on junior roles. When strong candidates threatened to walk over compensation or competing offers, she acted as the bridge between candidate and client to keep the hire alive.

The Story

At Success Pact, Puja managed a team of four recruiters across multiple client mandates, running daily standups to assign roles and keep sourcing moving.

She kept the senior-most roles for herself, such as EM and senior EM searches, while junior roles like software engineer went to her team.

When a strong candidate who had cleared every round threatened to back out, usually because another company was offering more money, she would talk to the candidate directly to understand what mattered to them.

She then took that information back to the client, making the case for why the candidate was worth retaining, including flexibility on compensation when the hiring manager wanted to keep them.

This role required her to hold both sides of the conversation, keeping the candidate's concerns visible to the client and the client's constraints visible to the candidate, so the hire did not fall through.
