Overview
Nitin led a five-person team building a Jira performance test framework for data center to cloud migration. The framework modeled customer-scale data and identified bottlenecks for internal teams to address.
The Story
Nitin took on a Jira cloud migration readiness problem: teams needed a reliable way to understand how customer-scale sites would behave under different data conditions. The work needed to test realistic combinations of tickets, comments, and custom fields.
He built the framework from scratch, created the project plan, and led a five-person team while contributing code. The team also developed site inflation and deflation flows that populated test sites with data resembling real customer environments.
Nitin structured execution in phases, testing workloads such as 10,000, 50,000, and 100,000 fields. When an entity caused an issue during inflation, the team could deflate it and continue isolating the remaining conditions.
The framework helped internal teams identify bottleneck entities and address them before migration. It also supported customer guidance on when data center sites could move to cloud.
