Overview
Nitin redirected Origin Medical's flagship product from post-processing analysis toward real-time image acquisition guidance. The platform reached 10+ US enterprise deployments and cut task time by about 50% in usability studies.
The Story
Nitin joined Origin Medical when its clinical AI concept centered on analyzing ultrasound images after acquisition. Through early interviews and workflow shadowing, he found substantial opportunity inside the acquisition workflow itself, where sonographers had to coordinate image quality, frame selection, measurements, annotations, and documentation.
He proposed a real-time guidance product that could support those decisions during the scan. He used simulated workflows with sonographers and physicians to test whether this direction addressed a meaningful clinical need.
The demonstrations produced strong user demand, and Nitin added workflow evidence by reviewing scan recordings. He examined how quickly users acquired acceptable images, which anatomical views had been captured, and when an exam could be completed.
He translated that evidence into a product case spanning user value, technical feasibility, latency, and differentiation. Working with AI, engineering, and leadership, he helped commit the roadmap to real-time assistance and expanded the product across multiple clinical workflows.
The resulting platform moved from first interviews to 10+ live US enterprise deployments. LinkedIn reports about 50% faster task completion, a 25% usability improvement across releases, and a 30% reduction in inter-operator variability.
