The Story
Nilam served as the business analyst on a finance transformation engagement, where the client was undertaking process optimization and transformation across its Record-to-Report function. Her role was to surface the gap between current-state processes and the future state the client needed.
She designed and ran workshops with both internal and external stakeholders, including end users of the finance function and direct customers, to map current processes, capture pain points, and define the ideal future-state design. The workshops were structured to draw out not just what was broken, but what the right process should look like and how it could be implemented.
By speaking directly with the people doing the work day to day, rather than relying solely on management-level input, she was able to surface process gaps that a top-down assessment would have missed. The findings fed directly into the transformation roadmap, giving the client a grounded view of where to prioritize process change.
