The Story
Neetu built and maintained several research infrastructure systems at Axis Mutual Fund that the broader investment team relied on.
The first was a quarterly research report system for every company in her coverage. Each report captured the company's results against the prior quarter and prior year, summarized management commentary, and documented how her conviction and valuation had changed. These reports created a running record of the research process and made it easy to track how a thesis had evolved over time.
The second was a corporate governance voting repository. Every month, she compiled a structured record of how votes had been cast across the companies in her coverage. This repository fed directly into Axis Mutual Fund's published disclosures on their website, and she took full responsibility for its accuracy.
The third was a monthly fund manager activity tracker, which documented what fund managers were buying and selling relative to the research team's recommendations. This created a feedback loop between research output and portfolio action.
All of these systems were maintained in Excel and MS Word formats, and on a quarterly basis, Neetu presented the research output to both the internal investment team and external stakeholders. The infrastructure she built meant that research findings were documented, accessible, and traceable rather than sitting in individual notes.
