Overview

Midhun worked on a configurable workflow engine for a sales and marketing analytics SaaS product. With a fixed deadline, he estimated the work, prioritized the release, and sequenced lower-priority features later.

The Story

Midhun joined a sales and marketing analytics product built with AngularJS under a tight client delivery timeline. A major feature was a configurable workflow engine with multiple steps and input states feeding later analytics.

The full requested scope would not fit the timeline without compromising the quality of a client demonstration. He used estimates to identify the most important release scope.

He negotiated the release around higher-priority workflow capabilities and moved lower-priority items to a later delivery window. He then implemented the workflow engine while learning a new framework and handling its UI configuration.

The result was a release plan designed to give the client a robust demonstration rather than an incomplete implementation of every requested feature.
