The Story
Manish worked on BitClass's payout service when the product team was receiving recurring reports from teachers about incorrect payouts. Multiple data sources could influence course prices and teacher splits, creating inconsistent calculations.
He traced the issue to fragmented inputs and redesigned the service around one source of truth. Course price, registrations, hours, and split rules were brought into a coherent calculation model.
He also used a fan-out approach to improve payout processing. The revamped architecture removed the reported inconsistencies and gave the team a more maintainable foundation for teacher payouts.
