Founding Designer

Cardboard is an agentic video editor for growth/marketing teams and serious creators who need to ship videos consistently. Instead of agencies, long timelines, and infinite review cycles, teams give cardboard a footage + a goal (“3 variants”, “30s hook”, “testimonials”) to get a strong first cut in minutes on which they can iterate quickly.

Cardboard believes AI video creation should make creators faster without taking the creative control out of their hands.

Its editor brings generation, editing, and export into one place, and learns how each creator works along the way.

As Founding Designer at Cardboard, you will own product design end to end as the company’s first dedicated designer.

You will shape agentic video workflows, editable motion graphics, style controls, and product memory. The role requires strong product craft, visual taste, and comfort shipping as a hands-on individual contributor.

You will work directly with the co-founders and collaborate across the small team.

• The product design function. Set the design direction and carry work from early concepts through shipped product.
• Controllable agent workflows. Make automated video creation understandable, editable, and trustworthy.
• Editable motion graphics. Design how creators adjust generated animation at frame level without writing code.
• Style expression and control. Turn visual references into attributes creators can shape and reproduce.
• Creator memory experiences. Show learned preferences in ways that feel useful, accurate, and respectful.
• Weekly design delivery. Prototype, test, refine, and ship alongside the team in weekly cycles.

• Built a product from zero to one. You shaped an early product as a hands-on designer with broad ownership.
• Owned work end to end. Your portfolio makes your personal decisions and contributions easy to identify.
• Designed complex interactions. You made powerful systems feel clear, controllable, and approachable.
• Shipped on short cycles. You turned uncertain product direction into useful releases within weeks.
• Balanced utility with visual taste. Your products work clearly and carry a coherent visual point of view.
• Used AI tools in your workflow. You explore agentic tools and understand how they change product design.

• Own the work end to end. Pick up an agreed direction and carry it through without heavy process.
• Choose the work carefully. Spend time deciding what matters, then move quickly once the choice is made.
• Ship every week. Keep scopes tight, learn from releases, and improve the product in steady cycles.
• Communicate your work clearly. Keep the team current on decisions, progress, and open questions.
• Prototype the interaction. Use the right tool to make product behavior tangible before polishing it.
• Use AI throughout the work. Work comfortably with Claude and other agentic tools across the design process.

Base compensation is upto ₹85L a year. Equity ranges from 0.1% to 1% through founding ESOPs. You will work directly with the co-founders and own product design across Cardboard. The role gives you authorship over how creators control an agentic video editor.
