About 8club
8club helps people create and discover meaningful experiences in their city.
The platform gives hosts everything they need to bring people together, including ticketing, curated guest lists, invitations, interest-based matching, and community messaging.
Members can find experiences ranging from networking dinners and run clubs to hobby groups, parties, and retreats, then stay connected with the people they meet.
Founded in 2023 by Kunal Yadav, Madhur Rao, and Kaushal Chanani, 8club is backed by angel investors and institutional investors like India Quotient.
Today, more than 200,000 members and 10,000 hosts use 8club across India. As the company expands into new cities, its ambition is to become the platform people use to build communities and spend more time together in real life.
About the Role
As Marketing Lead at 8club, you will build and own the entire marketing function from the ground up, reporting directly to the founders.
You will define strategy and drive execution across performance, SEO, brand, content, and social. The role asks for breadth, sharp consumer instincts, and the ability to move from direction-setting to hands-on delivery without losing pace.
You will lead your own pod, set the operating rhythm for the function, and build the team beneath you as the business scales.
What You'll Own
• Shape the 8club brand. Create a distinctive voice and identity that builds recognition and belonging.
• The Growth Engine. Build distribution that runs via event hosts and word of mouth.
• Turn Hosts Into Icons. Shine the spotlight on event hosts and give them the tools to turn them into cultural icons in their city.
• Content Engine. Turn 8club experiences into stories that compound reach across social media channels.
• Multi City Launches. Create city-launch marketing playbooks that build density one neighbourhood at a time.
• Collaborations And Activations. Partner with relevant communities and influencers that raises 8club's cultural standing.
• Positioning. Define and hold 8club as the offline social graph, clearly distinct from ticketing, discovery, and events apps.
• Metrics That Matter. Own organic reach, memory-to-signup conversion, referral-led growth, and marketing's contribution to host activation.
• The Marketing Team. Hire and lead the function as the company scales across cities.
Signs You'll Be A Great Fit
• Built a brand or audience from scratch. You grew something, a channel, a community, a campaign, and can show what it produced.
• Owned consumer marketing end to end. You have deep B2C experience and understand how to influence a large and diverse audience.
• Run performance budgets with real accountability. You have managed paid spend across Meta or equivalent channels and owned the ROAS outcome.
• Spots cultural shifts early. You understand the cultural trends that makes a brand feel relevant and have applied that judgment in your own work.
• Operated across channels at once. You have run brand and performance in parallel, and know how each one pulls on the other.
• Led a team without stepping away from the work. You’ve managed people while continuing to write briefs, run campaigns, and raise the quality of the work.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and a thin playbook. You have set direction where none existed and kept the execution moving.
How We Work
• Keep the quality bar high. 8club is invite-only by design. We choose who is in the room with care, because the room is only as good as the people in it.
• Share work early and openly. Plans and drafts live in shared channels, so everyone can see where the work stands and contribute. We ask for help early and offer it freely.
• Be candid and constructive. Be honest about what is working and what is not. Raising concerns early gives the team more time to respond and improve the work.
• Take ownership of the outcome. You’ll have the autonomy to decide how the work gets done. We’ll align on the goal, check in weekly, and give you the space to deliver.
