About 3one4 Capital

3one4 Capital is an early-stage venture capital firm based in Bengaluru, investing in transformative technology companies building for the new Indian economy. The firm works across select market categories and the intersections between them, spanning consumer internet, SaaS and enterprise automation, fintech, digital health, and deep tech, and partners with founders through a deep-involvement model that runs from product-market fit to defensibility and scale. Its portfolio includes Licious, Darwinbox, Dhan, KukuFM and Tracxn. The firm runs as a lean, high-ownership team, with direct access to firm leadership built into how work gets done.

About the Role

The Investment Research Analyst owns the firm's research function end to end, running live deal evaluation and sectoral thought leadership in parallel.

The role covers primary research across active deals, the firm's sectoral views across consumer, frontier tech, and industrial themes, and authorship of the flagship reports that shape the firm's public standing. It calls for structured analytical thinking, strong written communication, and the ability to carry several workstreams independently.

The role runs in direct cadence with the firm's senior leadership and engages external stakeholders including government bodies, industry partners, and co-investors.

What You'll Own

  • Primary research on active deals: Design and run consumer surveys, expert interviews, field checks, and competitive benchmarking that feed live investment decisions.
  • Full ownership of the firm's research function: Sectoral intelligence across priority themes: Build and maintain the firm's live view across consumer, frontier tech, and industrial sectors.
  • Flagship annual reports: Lead research, structuring, and authoring from conception to publication, alongside senior leadership.
  • Co-branded strategic documents: Coordinate with government bodies, industry partners, and co-investors to produce reports and regional vision documents.
  • Research inputs for IC memos: Turn field findings into structured inputs that shape investment committee decisions.
  • The firm's knowledge infrastructure: Build and maintain the repositories and sourcing workflows that keep research output consistent and rigorous over time.

You'll Be A Great Fit If

  • Run primary research end to end: Designed surveys, conducted expert interviews, and executed field research, then turned the findings into a structured narrative.
  • Synthesised qualitative depth into clear outputs: Your work product is not a data dump; you draw out what the findings actually support and write it clearly.
  • Owned a research work stream: Driven a project from brief to delivery without a team around you, managing your own timeline and stakeholder expectations.
  • Worked inside a research-heavy function: Consulting, investment banking, in-house research, or a similar environment where rigorous analytical output was the core deliverable.
  • Communicated research to senior audiences: Presented findings to leadership, clients, or external partners and held the room on the substance.
  • Tracked markets with genuine curiosity: You follow consumer behaviour, emerging sectors, and macroeconomic shifts closely and by choice.
  • Used AI tools to move faster through data: Worked with AI-assisted research workflows and know how to use them without losing analytical rigour.

How We Work

  • Start with the outcome, then build the structure: Every task begins with a clear view of what the stakeholder needs; the framework follows from that.
  • Own the workstream from brief to delivery: You pick up a task, manage the timeline, and deliver without being chased.
  • Ask when the path is unclear: The team is accessible and raising a question early is expected.
  • Coordinate across functions and outside the firm: Research touches leadership, government partners, and co-investors; managing those relationships is part of the work.

The Opportunity

Direct work with the firm's senior leadership and full ownership of the research mandate across deal evaluation and thought leadership. The role gives ground-level exposure to how a top-tier early-stage VC builds conviction and makes investment decisions across the full cycle, alongside authorship of reports that carry the firm's name into the market.
