Overview

Gururaj joined Libra AI about eight weeks before launch as a product and growth consultant. Libra was building an agentic work OS: a chat interface that connected to tools like Notion, Linear, and Google Docs and took actions on the user's behalf. The product was technically capable, but the interface left new users with no clear entry point.

The Story

Gururaj joined Libra AI about eight weeks before launch as a product and growth consultant. Libra was building an agentic work OS: a chat interface that connected to tools like Notion, Linear, and Google Docs and took actions on the user's behalf. The product was technically capable, but the interface left new users with no clear entry point.

The core problem was one common to horizontal tools: when a product applies to everyone, it risks feeling built for no one. An empty chat box gave users no agency to start. Gururaj redesigned the onboarding flow to surface the platform's primary capabilities upfront, introducing persona-based prompts so that a founder, a product manager, or a marketer each saw a starting point relevant to their work.

He also worked on the website to sharpen the product's growth narrative, making the agentic capabilities legible to users who had only ever used frontier models for basic chat.

Launching on Twitter

For distribution, Gururaj led a two-track launch strategy. Offline, he organised discovery events at cafes in Bengaluru and sent outreach to admired AI-native companies in the city to build community awareness. Online, he led the production of a launch video for Twitter.

He studied prior launch videos to understand what drove engagement, scripted and storyboarded the video, and coordinated with a creative agency and motion graphics designers to produce it. The video was timed for tech Twitter, where the audience is primed for product launches. The launch video reached 1.8 million views.

Post-launch, Gururaj spent two weeks working on improving the acquisition funnel, focusing on how to move users from initial curiosity to experiencing the product's agentic capabilities, which was the moment that converted skeptics into believers.
