The Story
Govind supported senior investment bankers based in the US and Europe on a live transaction in the diversified chemicals sector. The deal was a US-based transaction of significant scale, and his role was to assist in building the deal materials.
His primary contribution was drafting the Confidential Information Memorandum. He built the full shell of the CIM, including the title page, confidentiality notice, executive summary, industry overview, company description, financial figures, and a section covering the company's recent expansion and acquisition history.
Financial data was pulled from Capital IQ. The structure and content direction came from the senior bankers, who provided detailed instructions on what to include and how to frame each section.
Once he submitted the draft, the senior bankers reviewed it and returned feedback. He iterated through multiple rounds, making changes to structure, framing, and content until the document met their standard. The finalized CIM was used in the live deal process.
Alongside the CIM work, he also supported buyer list development and sector-focused industry research as part of the broader deal support mandate.
