The Story

Mohammad Aslam joined ZIGRAM as a Market Research Analyst and progressed to Senior Research Analyst, working within the company's AML and KYC compliance function. His core responsibility was building detailed intelligence profiles on Politically Exposed Persons, or PEPs, across multiple countries.

The work was micro-research at its core. For each subject, he mapped the full network: family members, associates, legal representatives, and any companies the individual was connected to. The goal was to surface financial trails and flag anything that looked suspicious or inconsistent with the subject's declared profile.

He worked on cases involving high-profile political figures. He tracked financial connections, including money trails running through associates rather than the subject's own accounts, a common pattern in cases where direct financial exposure is being obscured. His reports were structured into discrete sections, each designed to serve a specific investigative need: financial history, associate networks, company affiliations, and flagged transactions.

Government authorities used his reports to support their case filings. The structure of the reports mattered as much as the content: investigators needed to navigate to the relevant section quickly, and the findings had to be presented in a way that could support formal proceedings.

He also contributed to the development of AI models at ZIGRAM aimed at improving the company's compliance screening processes.
