The Story
Ashlesha joined MarkUs, the marketing society at Hansraj College, as a delegate in her first year and progressed to Research and Editorial Department Head. In the head role, she was responsible for the research quality and editorial direction of the society's social media output.
As a delegate, she had built her research instinct by digging into marketing case studies independently. She did not stop at surface-level summaries. When she researched a case like Maggi's brand recovery in India, she traced the company's trajectory through its lowest point and analyzed how a specific marketing intervention reversed the decline. She was looking for the moment where a business problem and a marketing solution intersected in a way that produced a measurable outcome.
When she moved into the head role, she directed a team of delegates to identify topics worth researching and set the standard for how deeply each case study needed to be understood before it could be published. The goal was content that gave followers with genuine interest in marketing something they could not easily find elsewhere.
The research process required her to make editorial judgment calls: what was worth the audience's attention, what was surface noise, and how to package a complex business story into a format that was both accurate and engaging.
