The Story
During her time at Indian Angel Network, Anshika evaluated a pipeline of early-stage startups, with a concentration in the pharma sector. The work required her to track sector dynamics, assess startup viability, and form views on where the market was heading.
What caught her attention was a cluster of pharma startups building last-mile delivery infrastructure for medicines, promising rapid delivery. At the time, rapid delivery was associated almost entirely with daily essentials. The idea that the same model could apply to medicines, where the need is often urgent and the supply chain involves third-party stockists with significant logistics gaps, struck her as a meaningful opportunity.
She tracked the sector closely, monitoring how the pharma market fluctuated and where the structural gaps in the stockist and distribution layer were creating room for tech-enabled entrants. Her view was that strong user experience combined with fast delivery could unlock a segment that traditional pharmacy retail had not served well.
This habit of tracking sectors independently, reading launches, monitoring shifts, and forming views before they become consensus, was one she carried forward from this role.
