The Story

When a new client comes to KPMG for due diligence and trade cycle management, Anshika owns the research process from the first brief to the final closure. The approach she has developed is structured and repeatable across jurisdictions and financial product types.

She begins by mapping the company's context: jurisdiction, regulatory environment, company history, ownership structure, and the identity and background of key stakeholders. Annual reports are a primary source, not just for financials but for understanding the direction the company is heading and what its leadership has publicly committed to.

From that foundation, she moves into sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screening, using the stakeholder map she has already built to make the screening precise rather than generic. Risk is assessed across four dimensions: jurisdiction, entity type, financial product complexity, and screening results.

Only after exhausting publicly available sources does she return to the client with a targeted list of outstanding items. This discipline keeps client interactions efficient and protects the relationship. The final step is closing the trade cycle, with all regulatory requirements satisfied and the client's experience intact throughout.
