The Story

Anand identified the MediQuik opportunity from a personal experience: he had to travel a significant distance to find a specific medicine for his mother that was unavailable at local pharmacies.

Rather than treating it as a one-off inconvenience, he went to the ground to understand why. He visited pharmacy owners across Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns, asking them directly how they sourced their inventory, what the pain points were, and what was missing.

Across hundreds of conversations, a consistent pattern emerged. Pharmacy owners had to visit multiple stockists and wholesalers physically to assemble their inventory, burning time and fuel. Delivery services from distributors existed in larger cities but were limited to narrow geographic ranges in smaller towns. Small pharmacies struggled to source diverse products, leading to frequent stock-outs and restricted service offerings.

From those findings, Anand built a structured business case. The proposed solution was a B2B digital ordering platform for pharmacy procurement: a single app where pharmacy owners could place orders across all medicine categories and receive delivery within a dedicated one-to-two-hour window, supported by local micro-warehousing near the customer.

The plan included AI-assisted inventory planning for smarter recommendations and order optimization, and a real-time order tracking interface modeled on quick-commerce consumer apps. He pitched the idea to multiple investors and founders, including a general partner at a fintech-focused VC, and continued refining the case based on that feedback.
