Overview

Anupam joined SenseFix at zero as product lead and UX architect, building an AI-powered maintenance management platform from scratch. He designed multimodal workflows spanning voice, video, and sensor data, taking the product from a tech prototype to deployment across dozens of clients worldwide.

The Story

Anupam joined SenseFix, a company started by a college senior, when the product was barely more than a tech prototype with little design behind it. He came in as product lead and UX architect, tasked with building an AI-powered maintenance management platform that could handle multimodal inputs, including voice, video, sensor data, and manual entry, across different user roles such as asset managers, service staff, citizens, and admins.

The central challenge was making a technically dense system usable for non-technical field workers like plumbers and electricians. He designed interfaces where a service worker could speak to the app or take a photo and have the system extract the relevant data automatically, removing the need for manual entry.

He also designed a real-time remote assistance flow, where an expert could see through a service worker's camera feed and give live feedback, alongside an automated rules system where sensor thresholds, such as temperature or motor frequency, triggered service requests without a human raising a ticket. The full loop closed automatically: sensors detected the issue, a workflow guided the technician, and the system generated the report without any manual form filling.

Getting there required convincing skeptical clients through iterative pilots: building a prototype, taking it to customers, refining it against what didn't fit their workflow, then expanding the same underlying technology into new verticals. The platform expanded from city facilities into oil and gas, hotels, co-working spaces, and housing societies, reaching dozens of clients across Asia, Europe, and the US.
