The Story
Aditya's team at IQVIA was brought in to help a client size the total addressable market for a rare disease. The challenge was that general data on rare diseases is sparse, and the client needed clinical and epidemiological insight that secondary sources could not provide.
The research approach required primary interviews with healthcare professionals, including practicing clinicians with direct exposure to the disease. To avoid introducing bias, the interviews were conducted blind: experts were not told the client's name or the commercial context behind the questions.
Aditya designed and ran the interview questions in collaboration with senior team members. The questions were structured to draw out clinical judgment: how practitioners classified the disease, how they expected its progression to unfold, and what patient volumes they anticipated in specific geographies.
He then synthesized the expert responses into actionable findings. Using IQVIA's proprietary data platform alongside the interview data, he mapped sales progression, channel flows, and growth trends for comparable drugs. The combined analysis gave the client a scenario-based view of what a similar drug launch could look like in that market.
The output was delivered as a structured presentation. The client received a set of recommendations grounded in both clinical expert input and quantitative market data.
