The Story
Aditi took on a second engagement within the Sports Strategy Pod, this time for a different sports league that wanted to improve its app. The brief was vague: understand what other sports apps were doing differently. There was no prescribed structure.
She decided to organize the research around two distinct problems: acquiring new users onto the app and retaining existing ones. These were different challenges requiring different strategies, and separating them gave the research a clear spine.
Under each bucket, she sourced examples from comparable sports apps, identified the strategies they were deploying, and backed each finding with user behavior data and statistics to show that the strategies were grounded in how users actually behaved, not just what competitors happened to be doing.
The output was a structured research deck covering both acquisition and retention strategies, with data-backed examples the client could evaluate against their own priorities. As with the creator activation work, the materials were handed to the US team for client presentation once complete.
