The Story
Abhisomya joined Delta Visionaries, a boutique investment banking firm, where he worked in the CEO's office on strategy and investments. His work involved conducting primary research on early-stage companies and building investment theses for mandates the firm held on behalf of VC clients.
One of the mandates was held on behalf of a major Indian VC. He researched a conversational voice AI company that was operating well ahead of the market's mainstream awareness of the category. He met with the team, understood their product positioning, and analyzed the archetype of people joining the company as a signal of where the technology was heading.
He built a research-backed investment thesis that framed the company's narrative and pushed the mandate to the VC client. The company was not funded at that time, but the research contributed a credible narrative push for the mandate.
Across his time at Delta Visionaries, he developed a framework for evaluating early-stage companies that weighted founder-market fit and timing heavily, particularly at seed stage where financial data is thin. He learned to ask whether a category was actually growing, whether the founding team had earned the right to solve the problem, and what had changed in the market to make the current window the right one.
