The Story

Abhisomya joined Orbitel Labs as the company was building its AI-powered voice product for the BFSI sector. Conversational voice AI was a nascent category, and the competitive landscape was shifting quickly. His job was to map it clearly enough to shape both the investor narrative and the early customer acquisition plan.

He ran the research across multiple tracks simultaneously. He talked to customers to understand the real cost structure of voice AI components, including speech-to-text and text-to-speech pricing, which gave the team a ground-level view of where margins could be built or protected. He talked to VCs to understand what subsidies and cloud partnerships were available to early-stage players. He tracked which new companies were entering the market and what talent they were hiring, using that as a signal for where the category was heading.

The output fed directly into two places. On the investor side, it shaped how Orbitel positioned itself in pitch conversations, identifying the gaps in the market that the product was built to fill. On the product side, his research into RAG integration for customer service automation contributed to a 40% reduction in agent cost, a number that became a core proof point in the company's commercial conversations.

He also built the financial projections and investor decks for Orbitel's early fundraising discussions, translating the competitive intelligence into a narrative that aligned with the company's long-term monetization goals.
