The Story
Abhishek joined Bio Trend Energy as its first substantive research role after his undergraduate studies. The company was active in bio pellets, supplying agricultural residue-based pellets to NTPC plants operating under India's biomass co-firing mandate with coal.
His primary responsibility was building state-level infrastructure analyses for his manager's market development work. For each state, he researched the number of NTPC plants, the applicable co-firing rules, and the infrastructure available to support biomass supply. These analyses fed directly into presentations his manager used at seminars and industry events.
Beyond the infrastructure work, he also supported content development for the company's external communications, gathering and organizing information that the team used for social media and industry engagement.
He gathered data from secondary sources, structured it into presentation-ready slides, and handed them to his manager for final review and polish. The work gave him his first sustained experience in research-to-presentation workflows within a commercial clean energy context.
